I’m thrilled to share that Hanget® has been awarded Construction Tool Innovation of the Year 2025 at the Southern Enterprise Awards, run by SME News.
Winning this award is validation from industry peers and experts that Hanget solves a real pain point within construction.
Our mission has always been simple: to make construction work faster, safer, and smarter - especially for solo installers or small teams. Cost, risk, and inefficiency on site are real challenges, and Hanget was born to address them.
Work safer: Hanget helps prevent overreaching, one of the most common causes of accidents on site.
Boost productivity: What would normally need two people can now be done by one — Hanget holds soffits, fascias, boards, or sheet materials securely while you mark, cut, and fix.
Built to last: Strength tested to hold up to 15 kg, made from sturdy materials, fully recyclable, and proudly manufactured in the UK.
Versatile design: Two sizes (145×175 mm and 175×300 mm) give you flexibility across different tasks.
Portable & smart: Once the job is done, you simply remove the screw, fold it away, and stow it in your toolbox or pouch.
The journey to innovation
Hanget was invented by Marcus Tarling, who spent 40 years working in the construction industry. Through that experience - seeing the constant struggle to balance safety, speed, and solo working - he designed a beautifully simple solution.
We prototyped, refined, tested, and iterated — always with real-world feedback from builders, installers, and tradespeople. It’s not just a clever tool; it’s a tool designed by builders, for builders.
Thank you
A huge thank you to everyone who has supported Hanget so far - from early testers to customers, to our suppliers, and to the SME News team for this honour. None of this would be possible without your faith in the vision.
What’s next for Hanget?
We’re gearing up to expand our reach, making Hanget more accessible to installers, contractors, and DIYers across the UK.
We’re exploring new use cases beyond fascias and soffits,
from insulation and plasterboarding to renovation and deconstruction work.
We’ll continue iterating on the design, based on your feedback: making hanging even safer, faster, and more reliable.
